Showing Up for Community: Hart and Haven LLC at Beats & Eats 2026
Hart and Haven LLC believes in community, connection, accessibility, advocacy, and creating opportunities for people to participate in the things that matter to them. That is one of the reasons Hart and Haven LLC is excited to have a booth at Beats & Eats hosted by the Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition (CCDC).
Beats & Eats brings together music, food, advocacy, disability organizations, community members, advocates, and allies for an afternoon centered around connection and celebration. The 2026 event will take place on Saturday, September 19, from 12–6 p.m. at The Quad at 3840 York St. in Denver. The event includes a Resource & Community Fair featuring organizations working toward disability rights, accessibility, health equity, and community inclusion.

Why Community Events Matter
For many people, finding supportive resources can feel overwhelming. You may know that you need support but not know where to start. You may have spent years trying to navigate systems that weren't designed with your needs in mind. You may be discovering a new aspect of your identity or learning how to advocate for yourself. Or you may simply be looking for people who understand.
Community events can create a different kind of entry point. Instead of searching through websites, making phone calls, or trying to determine which services might be a good fit, people can walk into a space where multiple organizations and community members are gathered together. There is an opportunity to ask questions, have conversations, discover resources, and get connected to resources.
What Hart and Haven LLC Brings to the Community
As a neurodiversity-affirming occupational therapy practice, Hart and Haven LLC supports neurodivergent teens and adults in exploring how their environments, routines, relationships, sensory experiences, and daily occupations affect their well-being.
Our work can include areas such as:
Executive functioning and organization
Self-care routines
Interoceptive awareness
Habit and routine development
Energy management and pacing
Occupational balance
Sustainable lifestyle changes
Coping and self-regulation strategies
Self-advocacy
Navigating transitions and changes in routines
Rediscovering meaningful and joyful occupations
This approach is from a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming perspective.
Celebrating Disability Community and Occupation
There is something especially meaningful about an event that makes room for both advocacy and celebration. Disability community spaces can hold many things at once: education, connection, frustration, joy, creativity, advocacy, belonging, and celebration.
We often talk about "occupations" as the meaningful activities that make up our everyday lives. These can include caring for ourselves, working, creating, resting, connecting with others, participating in community activities, pursuing interests, and simply doing things that bring us joy Community events like Beats & Eats provide an opportunity to experience many of these things at once.
Come Say Hello
If you are attending Beats & Eats 2026, please say hello. You can stop by the Hart and Haven LLC booth to say hello, learn more about neurodiversity-affirming occupational therapy, ask questions, or simply connect! You don't need to have a specific question or know exactly what kind of support you're looking for, just come as you are.
Hart and Haven LLC is excited to meet other members of the disability community, connect with fellow organizations and advocates, share resources, and celebrate together.
At Hart and Haven, I believe in growth, ongoing learning, and discovery. And sometime those things happens best over music, BBQ, conversation, and a shared celebration of what makes our communities strong.
